Installing the Acrobat PDFWriter

:: General:

When publishing with us we offer authors to hand in their manuscripts as a PDF-file. In comparison with a paper draft an electronic manuscript has got important advantages concerning the quality of the finished books. Especially pictures and graphics can be reproduced in a higher quality from digital samples.

:: Availability:

The PDFWriter is included in the delivery of several Adobe-products and unfortunately cannot be purchased for free.

Acrobat PDFWriter embedding of fonts:

• Embed all fonts

Acrobat PDFWriter compression:

• AGeneral settings:
  compress text and vector graphics recalculation graphics
• Colour/grey images
  compression with: JEPEG low
• Black-and-white-images
  campression with: CCITT Group 4

With the help of 'pdftex' or 'dvipdfm' you can produce PDF files directly from L^AT_EX . For further information see the webpage www.dante.de.
