• Inquiry by the authors/editors and presentation of the book project
• Check by our editorial office and sending of an offer without obligation
• Receipt of the manuscript printout or PDF/PostScript file, ready for press, and of the order form at Shaker Publishing. Indication of the number of author’s copies needed (minimum of 30)
• Processing of the received data, registration of the title at the CIP centre (Cataloguing in Publication) and with the listing of available books (VLB), assignment of an ISBN (International Standard Book Number)
• Design of the cover, publisher’s page and copyright page
• The author receives the cover draft, publisher’s page, and copyright page for approval, the publisher’s contract in duplicate, and colour samples for the cover design
• Approval of the cover and publisher’s pages, or corrections by the author, return of the signed contracts and choice of colour for the cover
• In case the manuscript was handed in as a PDF/PostScript file, the author receives a test printout for approval
• Completion and print of the books
• Dispatch of author’s copies of the books together with a signed copy of the contract (if necessary directly after placing of the order) and a form for the VG-Wort (a collecting society concerned with author’s rights. For countries other than Germany see www.vgwort.de/international.php)
